Beanitos Review
I received this product for free from @Influenster
Guacamole Recipe (Not included with chips, but used to dip chips into)
Pre-made Pico de Gallo mix, 2 avacados, 1 fresh squeezed lime, dash of sea salt and fresh grounded pepper
Original Flavor
Lightly salted, not too crunchy, not too chewy
Initial reaction when checking the bag:
Internal dialogue: "Wow, lots of potassium, fiber, AND fat…oooh and they’re Kosher. Perfect! They don’t have the crispness of a corn chip. MMmm They are quite good."
Then I began noting the difference between a corn tortilla chip and these back bean chips
At the end, you can tell there are beansy chalky feel in your mouth that doesn’t give you quite the crisp that corn usually has. But if they are the same price as the corn chip, I might be more willing to buy these rather than the corn chips simply for the health benefit and ingredients.
Chipotle BBQ
I spent more time savoring the flavor of the bite than the original flavor. These were a little bit spicier than I like. Upon inspecting the bag, I noticed there were significantly more ingredients in these chips than the original flavor. I’m assuming it was to add the spice. I probably wouldn’t buy these not because of the BBQ flavor, but because of the spice. It's rather overwhelming like they tried to make the spice apparent in the flavor, but tried too hard to do so. In fact, there seems to be too much spice ingredient added to this that overpowers the bbq flavor.
Overall impression, I definitely wouldn't buy the Chipotle BBQ flavor, but will definitely be purchasing the Original recipe in the near future.
FYI to those with sensitive stomachs:
The notably high fiber content in these bags is potent.
I ate these at 11am and had to leave work rather suddenly by 2pm.
You can assume what took place shortly after.
